Praise the Lord for His mercy and grace. He has allowed us another chance to stay on the path that leads to Him. The one true thing we can do is rejoice.
Today’s Prayer
Father, I come before you this day on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ to ask You to help us as parents to spend more time with our children regardless of their age, sometimes with each one alone. Help us to get to know each child better, to understand his or her thinking and needs. Let us listen to their opinions, and where they are off the track, their actions threatening to be non-productive or detrimental to their health or safety, let us explain why, and take a stand as parents. Let us pray together, and explain not only the hopes that we as parents have for their lives and conduct, but all that You too envision for them. Open their eyes to see that hasty decisions, without seeking Your guidance, could cause life-long consequences. Oh Lord, be with all families who love You, as they seek to live according to Your will. In Jesus’ holy name we pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
Rejoice In The Lord!
Philippians 4:1-9 –
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stay true to the Lord. I love you and long to see you, dear friends, for you are my joy and the crown I receive for my work.
Words of Encouragement
2 Now I appeal to Euodia and Syntyche. Please, because you belong to the Lord, settle your disagreement. 3 And I ask you, my true partner, to help these two women, for they worked hard with me in telling others the Good News. They worked along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are written in the Book of Life.
4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! 5 Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
Quote of the Day
No husband is so undying and everlasting a husband as Christ is; death separates all other relations, but the soul’s union with Christ is not dissolved in the grave. Indeed, the day of a believer’s death is his marriage day, the day of his fullest enjoyment of Christ. No husband can say to his wife, what Christ says to the believer, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you”
