FAITH BRINGS JOY 07-02-24

Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good. On Sunday, some people put on their church face to spend part of the day with “church People”, but I want to know how your joy is this morning? Some have taken off their church face and gone back to the place where they have problems and issues and all those other things that they hide from the “church People” in order to keep their image up, but how is your joy? If you don’t have any, just keep eating because this meal will give you a road map to find your joy.

Today’s Prayer

Father, how we must grieve You! You had such plans for this nation. Our founding fathers recognized Your authority, that we were each Your creation. Even those who didn’t know You well believed in the sacredness of life. Now, because we are so knowledgeable, we want to usurp Your position. We want to rewrite Your Word, and redesign Your family unit according to our own likings. Remind us, Lord, that if we who call ourselves Your people do not stand for Your moral principles, then we are no better than the leaders that we either voted for or elected by not voting at all! You speak to us in earthquakes, fire, floods, hurricanes and blizzards. How can we fail to see that You are still in charge? How many wake-up calls will You give us? Help us to have the courage to be fully Your people, to live holy lives because You are holy and You require holiness of us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Faith brings Joy

Romans 5:1-11

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.

Quote of the Day

Any victory that does not more than conquer is just an imitation victory. While we are suppressing and wrestling, we are only imitating victory. If Christ lives in us, we will rejoice in everything, and we will thank and praise the Lord. We will say, “Hallelujah! Praise the Lord” forever. ~Watchman Nee~
