As I was sitting and waiting for the inspiration to come to me for today’s message, a song I learned in church when I was a small child dropped into my spirit. The refrain of the song is: “yes Jesus loves me, yes Jesus loves me, yes Jesus loves me, the bible tells me so.” My question today is, what has the bible told you lately?
Today’s Prayer
Father, I believe every human desires respect, in fact, deep within the hearts of everyone is a desire for respect and love. I pray that I, and all my spiritual family members as well, will live a life that earns respect. I pray that our actions, our words, and even our thoughts will be worthy of respect. We want to love and respect others, and above all, we want to show our love and respect of You, Almighty God and Father. Thank You for watching over us and guiding us. Please forgive us when we have not lived up to our calling as believers, when we have not lived so as to deserve respect and bring honor to Your name. This day, we’re determined to live with integrity, a good attitude, and gratitude for all You are to us and all You have done for us and all we know You plan for us. Father, please bless us, and bless our families through us, and bless those around us as we look to You. In the matchless name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
Live as Citizens of Heaven
Philippians 1:27-30
27 Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News.
28 Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself.
29 For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.
30 We are in this struggle together. You have seen my struggle in the past, and you know that I am still in the midst of it.
Quote of the Day
Let us learn this lesson from Nehemiah: you never lighten the load unless first you have felt the pressure in your own soul. You are never used of God to bring blessing until God has opened your eyes and made you see things as they are.
