FEAR ONLY GOD 11-02-24

I feel real good in my sanctified soul today. I also know that I have to do a little reminder of who we are and the power that we have been given by God so put your bib on and get ready for some good spiritual food!

Today’s Prayer

(Make it personal today)

Oh God, How mighty are Your works in all the earth! I want to thank You for the times You have made Your presence felt in a mighty way. Please, pierce the hearts of mankind that we might seek You with all we are and that we might experience a mighty revival among believers and a great awakening among those who have yet to believe and accept You as their God. I praise You, Lord, and want to bless You with my life. I love You. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

 Fear Only God!

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. – 2 Timothy 1:7

God calls each of us to be ready to engage in spiritual warfare at any time. Whenever satan wants to come against one of God’s children, he does so by trying to intimidate through fear. One of the clear examples of this kind of intimidation comes from 2 Timothy where we are told the story of how Goliath’s formidable size and arrogant daring intimidated Saul and Israel’s army. And as you may or may not remember, God’s anointing had fallen from Saul; he was unable to respond with courage to Goliath’s charge. Fear paralyzes and torments. That is why Saul could not respond.

The scripture also tells us that the anointing had fallen on David, who was just a young boy, but mighty in spirit. David didn’t cower at the size or shouts of the giant Goliath. He saw Goliath through the eyes of God, who saw him as a mere speck. David had righteous indignation for the disrespect to the armies of the living God. David didn’t weigh the risk of failure because his faith was resting totally in God. That is another important factor in overcoming fear; complete trust in God.

When the Lord began training me to confront fear, the training grounds were going from being a successful and prideful business man to a meek and broken man who had nothing but God to depend on because when I got to my lowest, my so called friends disappeared. Groundless lawsuits, intimidations, and calamity confronted my very existence. I was so paralyzed by fear that I would not answer the phone. Learning that these were merely tactics of the enemy, designed to instill fear, allowed me to stand firm in God’s power to overcome. Once the Lord made me realize what was happening, He lifted my head up and began to release me from the bondage of fear.

Don’t fear sudden mishaps if you are walking uprightly before God. He may be setting the stage for a great victory that will bring praise and honor to Him. These battles are training grounds for greater victories to come.

Quote of the Day

At times, we are in circumstances that are personally crucifying. We are in situations where everything so obviously requires a mighty work of God. If He does not prove faithful on our behalf, there will be no way out of the agonizing dilemma. When our Lord is so clearly our only hope (and then He comes through faithfully), we again grow in a deeper knowledge of Him and His ways.
