Christmas is spelled L-O-V-E. What is the Christmas message? “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Happy Birthday Jesus!
Today’s Prayer
“Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her king.” Yes, we receive THE KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS.
Father, thank you for sending Your precious son to live as a perfect example to us and to take our place upon that cross and offer the greatest sacrifice so that we may have hope, joy, and a future in heaven with You; so that we may be saved from our sins; so that we might please You by our righteousness in Christ. Thank You for that baby that was born of a virgin, grew and lived a sinless life, and died and rose again that we might have eternal life. And thank You that He will come again and receive us to usher us into Your presence–whether through bodily death or transformational rapture. Come, Lord Jesus, come. Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas to our Savior, the Christ of Christmas, in whose name we pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
The Birth of Jesus the Messiah
Matthew 1:18-25
18 This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. 19 Joseph, her fiancé, was a good man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly. 20 As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet: 23 “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’” 24 When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife. 25 But he did not have sexual relations with her until her son was born. And Joseph named him Jesus.
Quote of the Day
It is truly said, “What the world needs now is love.” I need it. You need it. Your spouse needs it. Your child needs it. An elderly man or woman sitting alone in a nursing home today needs it. A child abandoned and alone in a children’s home needs it too. God sent His one and only Son as the Savior. He knew we couldn’t save ourselves. So He sent His Son to be born in a manger, to die on a cross, to rise again into glory, and to come again to redeem His church. Where are you spending your Christmas day? Maybe you can spare a few minutes with your family and friends to share His gift of love with someone who is all alone today. ~ANONYMOUS~
