Good day everyone. Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good, yes He is good and worthy of all of our praise. Jesus is the focus of this and every day so I put together some scripture as usual for consumption.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus, calmness can be ours in the “busy-ness” of this Christmas season if we set aside time to be with You. Peace can be ours in our hearts when we truly trust You, and joy can be ours when we share Your love with others. Even though darkness surrounds us, let us remember to walk in Your Light, secure in Your faithfulness. Help us to truly sense this in our spirits. In Your holy name we pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
THE MAN, CHRIST JESUS
(A Sevenfold Testimony to the Lord Jesus)
-Never a man spoke like this Man-
John 7:40-46 –
When the crowds heard him say this, some of them declared, “Surely this man is the Prophet we’ve been expecting.” Others said, “He is the Messiah.” Still others said, “But he can’t be! Will the Messiah come from Galilee? For the Scriptures clearly state that the Messiah will be born of the royal line of David, in Bethlehem, the village where King David was born.” So the crowd was divided about him. Some even wanted him arrested, but no one laid a hand on him. When the Temple guards returned without having arrested Jesus, the leading priests and Pharisees demanded, “Why didn’t you bring him in?” “We have never heard anyone speak like this!” the guards responded.
-The Officers, This Man receives sinners-
Luke 15:1-2 –
Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach. This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people—even eating with them!
-The Pharisees, This Man hath done nothing wrong-
Luke 23:40-42 –
But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
-The Robber, This Man was the Son of God-
Mark 15:39 –
When the Roman officer who stood facing him saw how he had died, he exclaimed, “This man truly was the Son of God!”
-The Centurion, Not this Man, but Barabbas-
John 18:38-40 –
“What is truth?” Pilate asked. Then he went out again to the people and told them, “He is not guilty of any crime. But you have a custom of asking me to release one prisoner each year at Passover. Would you like me to release this ‘King of the Jews’?” But they shouted back, “No! Not this man. We want Barabbas!” (Barabbas was a revolutionary.)
-People This Man was counted worthy-
Hebrews 3:3-4 –
But Jesus deserves far more glory than Moses, just as a person who builds a house deserves more praise than the house itself. For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God.
-God, the Father Through this Man is forgiveness-
Acts 13:38-39 –
“Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is declared right with God—something the law of Moses could never do.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“The event of Christ is the only event in human history that promises relocation and centering, meaning and purpose. This promise and its fulfillment evoke passionate and heartfelt praise and thanks, especially for those aware of their own brokenness and the healing which Christ brings into their lives.”
