Good day everyone. I was in a discussion group yesterday that of course led to me talking about salvation and the saving graces of Jesus. There were a few non-believers in the group that made fun of the fact that Jesus saves souls. That conversation led me to put together today’s message.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, forgive us for passing hurriedly over “forgive us our sins,” while contentedly thinking, “I have not committed murder, or stolen, or cheated on my income tax, etc.” Remind us, Lord, that for a “growing” Christian, worry, doubt, fear, ill temper, despondency, impatience, selfishness, insensitivity, and lack of love are “sins,” in that they separate us from You. Help us to turn to You in order to receive the insight and strength that we need to walk as Jesus walked. Help us to call upon the name of Jesus, that we may be saved from our sins. It’s in His wonderful name that we submit this and all things, Amen and Amen.
Let’s eat.
THREE CLASSES OF HELL
Neglecters of salvation
Hebrews 2:1-4
So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it. For the message God delivered through angels has always stood firm, and every violation of the law and every act of disobedience was punished. So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak? And God confirmed the message by giving signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit whenever he chose.
Too busy to take it; Rejecters of salvation
John 12:44-50
Jesus shouted to the crowds, “If you trust me, you are trusting not only me, but also God who sent me. For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me. I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. I will not judge those who hear me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the Day of Judgment by the truth I have spoken. I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it. And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say.”
Too proud to need it; Despisers of salvation
Acts 13:41
For God had promised to raise him from the dead, not leaving him to rot in the grave. He said, ‘I will give you the sacred blessings I promised to David.’ Another psalm explains it more fully: ‘You will not allow your Holy One to rot in the grave.’[j] This is not a reference to David, for after David had done the will of God in his own generation, he died and was buried with his ancestors, and his body decayed. No, it was a reference to someone else—someone whom God raised and whose body did not decay. “Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is declared right with God—something the law of Moses could never do. Be careful! Don’t let the prophets’ words apply to you. For they said, ‘Look, you mockers, be amazed and die! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.’”

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Spiritual visitation is to visit someone, when God is with you, and when you leave, you will be leaving God in his/her home and in his/her heart.
