Good morning everyone and praise the Lord for another day and another chance. This is the day that we in USA pay homage to those that have lost their lives for this country so that we may have the freedom that we so richly take for granted. Please take some time to reflect and thank God for those who were willing to give there lives for freedom. Also take time to thank the men and women that serve and have served this country in the Armed Services. The Lord woke me extra early today and put the word “rest” in my spirit. Now it seemed a little strange to me that the Lord would wake me even earlier than usual and then put rest in my spirit. Then it hit me that He was reminding me of spiritual rest, so here we go folks, Get ready for this.
Today’s Prayer
Father. I come before you this morning on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ to say thank You for guiding the lives of those that have accepted your Son as Lord and savior. Thank you that you move in spite of our limited thinking and understanding. You have deposited faith into each of us and now you call us to increase our faith daily. Thank you for stretching us and loving us. In the wonderful name of Jesus I submit this and all things, Amen.
Let’s eat.
I will give you rest
New Living Translation
Matthew 11:27-30
“My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
This is a call for those who have not accepted the rest that comes from Jesus. He has promised rest. He didn’t say that you would not go through anything negative in your life; in fact He said that you will be persecuted for following Him but there will still be rest. Do you love Him and trust Him? Today is the day to do it!
Quote of the Day
When the devil, the foe and the tyrant, sees a man bearing this weapon [fasting], he is straight-away frightened and he recollects and considers that defeat which he suffered in the wilderness at the hands of the Saviour; at once his strength is shattered and the very sight of this weapon, given us by our Commander-in-chief, burns him.
