Good morning everyone. Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good and He is worthy of all the praise we can give. Here is the question that hit my spirit as I was sitting here getting ready to prepare the meal. “WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO PLEASE, MAN OR GOD?” Don’t let your answer to this question keep you from your blessing.
Today’s Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, there is more that You have for us, isn’t there? Prod us, and challenge us to move from “square one” in our faith, for fear that we will remain “baby Christians” too long. Let us truly desire a greater and more complete infilling of Your Holy Spirit, so that we may gain new insights into Your Word and Your will. Only then can we have a “holy boldness” to stand up for You in EVERY AREA of our lives. Let Your Spirit flow through us so that others may desire to know You also! Let us all, as citizens of this great nation, remember the Christian roots of our founding fathers. Give us Your guidance, and the strength we need to stand with You against Your enemies. In your holy name we pray, Amen and Amen.
Let’s eat.
Who are you trying to please?
New Living Translation
John 12:38-43
This is exactly what Isaiah the prophet had predicted: ‘Lord, who has believed our message? To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm?’ But the people couldn’t believe, for as Isaiah also said, ‘The Lord has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts—so that their eyes cannot see, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and have me heal them.’ Isaiah was referring to Jesus when he said this, because he saw the future and spoke of the Messiah’s glory. Many people did believe in him, however, including some of the Jewish leaders. But they wouldn’t admit it for fear that the Pharisees would expel them from the synagogue. For they loved human praise more than the praise of God.
Quote of the Day
The Lord gives faith, for the very purpose of trying it for the glory of His own name, and for the good of him who has it; and, by the very trial of our faith, we not only obtain blessing to our own souls, by becoming the better acquainted with God, if we hold fast our confidence in Him, but our faith is also, by the exercise, strengthened: and so it comes, that, if we walk with God in any measure of uprightness of heart, the trials of faith will be greater and greater.
