A PSALM OF TRUST 08-11-24

As I sit here in front of this computer, I think of how blessed I am to have a community of brothers and sisters in Christ to share the things that are being dropped into my spirit. I thank God for all of you daily and I hope that at least some of you are blessed by this work of God. Now we will pray together.

Today’s Prayer

Dear Lord, the answers that I receive when I pray certainly demonstrate Your faithfulness to me, but they are also dependent upon my being obedient and faithful to You. … Your Word tells us that we cannot expect to have our prayers answered while we are living in sin and in disobedience to Your commandments.* … Oh Lord, help me to sincerely repent of any wrong-doing before I come to You with my needs. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Psalm 11

1 I trust in the LORD for protection. So why do you say to me, “Fly to the mountains for safety!

2 The wicked are stringing their bows and setting their arrows in the bowstrings. They shoot from the shadows at those who do right.

3 The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?”

4 But the LORD is in his holy Temple; the LORD still rules from heaven. He watches everything closely, examining everyone on earth.

5 The LORD examines both the righteous and the wicked.
He hates everyone who loves violence.

6 He rains down blazing coals on the wicked, punishing them with burning sulfur and scorching winds.

7 For the LORD is righteous, and he loves justice. Those who do what is right will see his face.

Quote of the Day

There are three possible kinds of God: the god of one’s own ego, in which the atheist believes, and which is also the god of modern confusionism; the god of nature, of stone and gold and silver, which belonged to the old religions of idolatry; and the Supreme God, who made both man and nature, and redeemed them both upon the cross. Those who tell us that they deny the existence of God are merely substituting one god for another. ~Fulton John Sheen~
