Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice! Those words come from one of my favorite praise and worship songs and rings true in my heart. I know what I used to be and I see what God is trying to mold me into. All I can do is praise Him for His continued work in my life. How about you? Today we have a prayer that each of us needs to pray individually.
Today’s Prayer
O Lord, thank You for Your wonderful promises! Though in this world, I face troubles, you have told me to take heart because You have overcome the world! (John 16:33 ).
Father, I am so relieved and thankful that through You, I am an over comer. So, Lord, when I am overwhelmed or discouraged or faced by great challenges or tempted, please remind me that I can overcome when I rely on You. Remind me to “take it to You in prayer” and allow You to carry me through. I also pray for wisdom and for that way out when temptation comes my way. Thank you. In JESUS’ name I pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
Christian Stewardship
Stewardship of the Gospel
King James
1 Corinthians 9:17 –
For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
Living Bible
1 Corinthians 9:17 –
If I were volunteering my services of my own free will, then the Lord would give me a special reward; but that is not the situation, for God has picked me out and given me this sacred trust and I have no choice.
Stewardship of the Truth
King James
2 Timothy 2:2 –
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
Living Bible
2 Timothy 2:2 –
For you must teach others those things you and many others have heard me speak about. Teach these great truths to trustworthy men who will, in turn, pass them on to others.
Faithful and Wise
King James
Luke 12:42 –
And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
Living Bible
Luke 12:42 –
And the Lord replied, “I’m talking to any faithful, sensible man whose master gives him the responsibility of feeding the other servants. If his master returns and finds that he has done a good job, there will be a reward–his master will put him in charge of all he owns.
Good and True
King James
1 Peter 4:10 –
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
Living Bible
1 Peter 4:10 –
God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other, passing on to others God’s many kinds of blessings.
Quote of the Day
Souls are not made sweet by taking [ill tempers] out, but by putting something in – a great Love, a new Spirit, the Spirit of Christ. Christ, the Spirit of Christ, interpenetrating ours, sweetens, purifies, transforms all. This can only eradicate what is wrong, renovate and regenerate, and rehabilitate the inner man. Will-power does not change men. Time does not change men. Christ does. Therefore “Let that mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.”
