Good morning everyone. As I start this morning there are so many things that are trying to knock down the spiritual fiber that we so embrace. I would really like everyone reading this to continue to intercede for those that have been struck by tragedy in the Oklahoma area. When I think about the mercy and grace promised in the word of God to those of us that believe and ask for it, my spirit leaps. For those of you who like me who are in the mist of a revival (those who are not, I take you in by association), just praise Him and understand that if He got you to it, He will get you through it, no matter what “it” is.
Today’s Prayer
Father, today I come before you on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ because all of us are surrounded by confusion, false propaganda, misinformation, lies, deceit and hypocrisy in both politics and religion. More than ever, we need the guidance of the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth and show us any errors in our thinking, as You promised to do if we would ask. Lord, we’re asking right now: “Let Your Holy Spirit fill us* — mind, body and soul — for fear that we unknowingly fall into Satan’s traps.” It’s in the matchless name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
Growing in Faith
New Living Translation
2 Peter 1:2-11
May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins. So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Quote of the Day
There is nothing that pleases the Lord so much as praise. There is no test of faith so true as the grace of thanksgiving. Are you praising God enough? Are you thanking Him for your actual blessings that are more than can be numbered, and are you daring to praise Him even for those trials which are but blessings in disguise? Have you learned to praise Him in advance for the things that have not yet come? Just asking, God knows the real answer.
