Glenn’s Meal 10-04-14

1 100413 throne-of-god

Good day everyone and praise the Lord for another day and another chance to do the things that bring glory to Him. I woke up with my eyes stayed on the One that sits on the throne and that is where we are going today.

Today’s Prayer

Father, on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ I come before the throne to ask that you would help us to accept life as a series of shocks – floods, tornadoes, sickness, death – interspersed with moments of shining joy, gentle love, quiet peace, indomitable hope. All this is the fabric of our lives. Help us to cling to these moments, sustained by Your strength, secure in Your love. Let us remember that Your son’s despair became victory, His sorrow became joy. Let this be so in our lives. Keep us on an even keel because we need You. Thank You, in Jesus’ name I present this and all things, Amen and Amen.

Let’s eat.

Four Thrones

Throne of Mercy

Exodus 25:17-22

“Then make the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement—from pure gold. It must be 45 inches long and 27 inches wide. Then make two cherubim from hammered gold, and place them on the two ends of the atonement cover. Mold the cherubim on each end of the atonement cover, making it all of one piece of gold. The cherubim will face each other and look down on the atonement cover. With their wings spread above it, they will protect it. Place inside the Ark the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, which I will give to you. Then put the atonement cover on top of the Ark. I will meet with you there and talk to you from above the atonement cover between the gold cherubim that hover over the Ark of the Covenant. From there I will give you my commands for the people of Israel.

The Meeting place between God and Man; Throne of Grace

Hebrews 4:14-16

So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

The Daily Resource of Saints; Throne of Glory

Revelation 4:3-4

The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow. Twenty-four thrones surrounded him, and twenty-four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads.

The Destiny of the Redeemed Throne of Judgment

Revelation 20:11-15

And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.

The first, is the propitiatory where the sinner meets God in mercy

The second, the throne of grace, where the saint in need draws near

The third, the throne in resurrection glory, to which the redeemed are to be brought

The fourth, the sphere or place of righteous judgment, at which the dead in sin will appear

Quote of the Day

If you’re on the rocks, don’t despair; be a lighthouse.
