My focus this morning turned to Jesus’ first public miracle. There are many was I could go with this to show how awesome this one work was. This is the scripture:
John 2:5
New Living Translation
5 But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
As followers of Jesus, we have to be obedient to the word of God whether we can understand or not. When Jesus was at the wedding in Cana, the servants had no way of knowing what Jesus was going to do. It might have seemed silly to them to fill pots with water. But Jesus’ mother gave them some very wise advice that we would do well to heed: “Do whatever he tells you.” It wasn’t a matter of whether they understood it or not, just that He told them to do it. This is what I want to get across to you today; the same Jesus who turned water into wine can transform your home, your life, your family and your future. That same Jesus is still in the miracle working business. His business is the business of transformation. I don’t know who to give credit to for saying this but someone has well said that nature forms us, sin deforms us, the penitentiary reforms us, education informs us, the world conforms us, but only Jesus transforms us.
A lot of times our minds are going to say, “Well, that’s old fashioned,” or “That doesn’t make sense.” Never come to the Bible that way. Never put the Bible under the jurisdiction of your reasoning. Whatever He says to you, do it.
Chew on that for awhile. Blessings on ya!
