Oh give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good, yes He is good. He gave us another day. How will you use it? The meal today is one that I have shared before over the years and I feel bares repeating today.
Today’s Prayer
Father, slow me down, and let me listen to the language of my heart. Let me sense the quickening of my spirit, and realize that my soul has questions that only You can answer. Let me take on fewer tasks so that those I do tackle may be pleasing to You. It is not quantity that counts but quality, isn’t it? Help me to make my time worth something — encouraging, caring, helpful, productive, at home with family and loved ones, at work with colleagues and associates, and with others encountered throughout the day. Let me make someone’s day brighter because our paths crossed. Help me to reflect Your love and concern, trusting You to give me the words to say, when needed to brighten someone’s day. Let me not miss the opportunities that cross my path. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
God Forgives the Repentant
Isaiah 57:15-21
15 The high and lofty one who inhabits eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in that high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I refresh the humble and give new courage to those with repentant hearts.
16 For I will not fight against you forever; I will not always show my anger. If I did, all people would pass away–all the souls I have made.
17 I was angry and punished these greedy people. I withdrew myself from them, but they went right on sinning.
18 I have seen what they do, but I will heal them anyway! I will lead them and comfort those who mourn.
19 Then words of praise will be on their lips. May they have peace, both near and far, for I will heal them all,” says the LORD.
20 “But those who still reject me are like the restless sea. It is never still but continually churns up mire and dirt.
21 There is no peace for the wicked,” says my God.
Quote of the Day
If we go about apologizing for speaking to people of the things of God, we must not be very much surprised if they catch our timidity and they feel awkward and we feel awkward. There is a certain shyness and awkwardness about us when we go to tell men and women of the things of eternal life, which react upon them until they become nervous and awkward too. ~Mildred Cable~
