As I sat here this morning thinking about my life and how messed up things were before I gave control to God. Then the word “help” dropped in my spirit. I went to the Psalms for some encouragement. My hope is that the scripture stirs something up in your spirit also.
Today’s Prayer
Father, as I sit here in your presence, humbled by what you allowed me to be a part of over the past few days in service of those that were in need of food, comfort and someone who cared, I say Thank you. The people that you brought together to honor and bring glory to your name were an answer to the prayer I prayed the day before we were to serve. You joined us together to serve your people with dignity and love. Only You can bring total strangers together on one accord. On behalf of all those you brought together I say thank You for Your sustaining grace, Your protection, and for Your presence in our lives through good times and through trying times this past year. I pray for those in this country, and in other nations around the world, who are suffering and need Your help. As You have blessed us, help us to be a blessing to others, in sharing where we can, and in praying that You will sustain them and supply their needs. In the matchless name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
God is our Help
Psalm 121
1 I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth!
3 He will not let you stumble;
the one who watches over you will not slumber.
4 Indeed, he who watches over Israel
never slumbers or sleeps.
5 The Lord himself watches over you!
The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
6 The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon at night.
7 The Lord keeps you from all harm
and watches over your life.
8 The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever.
