(CLICK THE PICTURE) I had a really wild dream last night that prompted me to really deal with some things. In the dream I was coveting a possession that someone else in the dream had that made me feel guilty. But through the grace of God I realized what was going on and I repented, so I give glory to God for the power of the Holy Ghost within me, even in my dreams. The message today is on those three points.
Today’s Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, help us to review Your truths that we may have watered down or chosen to ignore. A sin is not “missing the mark” as the Greeks, who had many gods, defined it. It is a sin because You defined it as such, and You are sovereign. Fornication, adultery, homosexuality, the killing of the unborn, abusing one’s body — all are an abomination to You and grieve Your Spirit. Help us realize that You loved us so much that You sent Your Son to redeem our sins. Help us, for we often find it hard to forgive myself. In the wonderful name of Jesus we pray, Amen and Amen.
Let’s eat.
Guilt, Grace and Glory
Man’s (my) Guilt
Romans 5:12-14 –
When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. Yes, people sinned even before the law was given. But it was not counted as sin because there was not yet any law to break. Still, everyone died—from the time of Adam to the time of Moses—even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ, who was yet to come.
Brings Condemnation; God’s Grace
Titus 2:11-13 –
For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed.
Brings Salvation; Christ’s Glory
John 17:22-24 –
“I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!
Quote of the Day
The Christian life is the life of the Lord Jesus Christ lived two thousand years ago, lived now by Him in you!
