HUMILITY 09-23-19

Good morning and praise the Lord for this day and the chance for growth in the spirit. I’m going to ask a question that can only be answered by you and God. How’s your love walk?

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come before you on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ. It is so true that some of us “will never really know that You are all we need, until You are all we have,”will we? Remind us that You are indeed faithful; even in our darkest hour, or in our loneliest moments, we can count on You to sustain us. Help us to know this in our spirits, and in our hearts. How sincerely I believe this will depend on how closely we have walked with You. Help us to resolve to spend some quality time with You each day. In JESUS’ name I pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

Christ Humility and Exaltation

(The ultimate Love walk)

Philippians 2:5-11

Your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his rights as God. He made himself nothing; he took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form. And in human form he obediently humbled himself even further by dying a criminal’s death on a cross. Because of this, God raised him up to the heights of heaven and gave him a name that is above every other name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Quote of the Day

Confessing our sins is not for God’s benefit, we aren’t telling him something that he doesn’t already know. Confessing our sins brings our own sinful nature to the forefront of our own eyes. It is now in the light, no longer hiding in the shadows. When we confess to God, it’s now out in the open and we are held accountable to repent, to turn away from that sin. We can no longer deny its existence, for the hearer of our confession is our witness. Often, God will bring us support to continue in the path of turning from a besetting sin in the form of a friend or a spiritual leader who will lovingly hold us accountable.
