(CLICK THE TITLE) Greetings everyone and praise the Lord for another wonderful day in His presence. This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. I’m grateful to all of you that had such kind words of encouragement on my birthday yesterday and I know that God sent all of you to help lift me up in this season of my life and for that I’m eternally grateful. I wish Love and blessings on all of you. Now let’s get to the work at hand.
Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, remind us that each step that we take in our walk with You counts, not just the goal. If we are to be Christians, then we must be Christian people each step of the way. Help us to see that every day of our lives contributes something to the people we are becoming, and our conduct influences others around us. Fill us with the Holy Spirit, so that we may stand firm in the trials that we encounter daily. In Your son Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
Three Typical Men
Adam the Natural Man
Genesis 3:1-7 –
The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” “Of course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,” the woman replied. “It’s only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, ‘You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.’” “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too. At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
Ruin Abel; the Offer-er of Sacrifice
Genesis 4:1-8 –
Now Adam had sexual relations with his wife, Eve, and she became pregnant. When she gave birth to Cain, she said, “With the Lord’s help, I have produced a man!” Later she gave birth to his brother and named him Abel. When they grew up, Abel became a shepherd, while Cain cultivated the ground. When it was time for the harvest, Cain presented some of his crops as a gift to the Lord. Abel also brought a gift—the best of the firstborn lambs from his flock. The Lord accepted Abel and his gift, but he did not accept Cain and his gift. This made Cain very angry, and he looked dejected. “Why are you so angry?” the Lord asked Cain. “Why do you look so dejected? You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.” One day Cain suggested to his brother, “Let’s go out into the fields.”[c] And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother, Abel, and killed him.
Redemption; Enoch, the Walker with God
Genesis 5:18-24 –
When Jared was 162 years old, he became the father of Enoch. After the birth of Enoch, Jared lived another 800 years, and he had other sons and daughters. Jared lived 962 years, and then he died. When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah. After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch lived in close fellowship with God for another 300 years, and he had other sons and daughters. Enoch lived 365 years, walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him.
Quote of the Day
I did not know my savage thirst until You led me to Your well. I did not know I lived in chains until You freed me.
