LIVING FOR GOD 11-19-24

I feel real good in my sanctified soul today. I had an episode yesterday that I’m not proud of and had to repent for because I let the pressure of the lack of something creep in and take control for a brief time. The Holy Ghost snapped me out of that crap quick, fast and in a hurry. What I want to ask you is how are you living and who are you living for? Keep reading because this is a good spiritual meal for us all.

Today’s Prayer

Father, help us to understand where self-esteem ends and pride begins. You must know that today’s teaching is that most people don’t have enough self-esteem and that children should be taught to “feel good” about themselves. You have created each of us with the gift of life, and an uniqueness in Your sight that comprises individual ability and purpose, to be discovered and developed. Parents should help each child to understand this, and encourage each to do his/her best. The more talented persons have more responsibility, but everyone has some quality that needs to be developed and used for one’s own best interests, and for society’s good. These are the blessings; the danger is in letting self-esteem become over-bearing pride! Help us to see this, Father. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Living for God

1 Peter 4:1-11

So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin.  You won’t spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God. You have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy—their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols.

Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they do. So they slander you. But remember that they will have to face God, who stands ready to judge everyone, both the living and the dead. That is why the Good News was preached to those who are now dead—so although they were destined to die like all people, they now live forever with God in the Spirit.

The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay.

10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 11 Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

Quote of the Day

Our first place of victory [over fear] is in believing the truth concerning our relationship with God. Paul tells us that, “having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Rom 5:1). We reject the lie that insists God is our enemy. We come to believe He is our Helper in the healing of our souls! ~Francis Frangipane~
