Nehemiah’s Concern For God’s People 11-29-24

Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice. I woke up this morning with a renewed sense of expectation. The God that we serve is up to something big. Are you ready to receive? I was in a bit of a depressed state and brought to tears because I discovered that I didn’t have the funding to help one of the groups that I normally support at this time of year. But the Holy Spirit urged me to get up and praise God. I’m up!

Today’s Prayer

Father, thank You that You inspired Apostle Paul to write these words for the encouragement of Your people in every generation: “Delight yourselves in the Lord; yes, find your joy in Him at all times. Have a reputation for gentleness, and NEVER forget the nearness of your Lord. DON’T WORRY OVER ANYTHING WHATEVER; tell God every detail of your needs in earnest and thankful prayer, and the PEACE of God, which transcends human understanding, will keep constant guard over your hearts and minds as they rest in Christ Jesus. Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. THINK ABOUT ALL YOU CAN PRAISE GOD FOR AND BE GLAD ABOUT. Keep putting into practice all you have learned from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace will be with you.”. Oh Lord, help all of us praying this prayer to remember to read this often and to stay on course with You. We present this and all thing to you in the wonderful name of Jesus, Amen and Amen.

Let’s eat.

Nehemiah’s Concern For God’s People

Nehemiah 1:5-9

Then I said, “O Lord, God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps his covenant of unfailing love with those who love him and obey his commands, listen to my prayer! Look down and see me praying night and day for your people Israel. I confess that we have sinned against you. Yes, even my own family and I have sinned! We have sinned terribly by not obeying the commands, decrees, and regulations that you gave us through your servant Moses.

“Please remember what you told your servant Moses: ‘If you are unfaithful to me, I will scatter you among the nations. But if you return to me and obey my commands and live by them, then even if you are exiled to the ends of the earth, I will bring you back to the place I have chosen for my name to be honored.’

Quote of the Day

Obedience has a price, too – death to our own ways – but it also promises a great reward: the commendation of the Father. So lay aside all your excuses. Then take hold of His plan for your life, and watch Him do mighty works through you. ~Joy Strang~
