PEACE, PATTERN AND POWER 12-07-23

Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good and worthy of our praise. This is one of those messages that has jumper cables attached to it. Come on and get your jump start.

Today’s Prayer

Father, remind us that Your Word says that we must come as little children, asking trustingly for Your help, not just in crises but in the “everyday-ness” of finding lost articles, or a parking space. If we think that You would not be interested in such mundane things, are we not making You conform to our own design? If we think that we shouldn’t bother You, have we ever really understood Your love, or known You as a real Father? Forgive us for not realizing that “living in Your presence” means in all things and at all times. In the wonderful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Peace, Pattern, Power

Christ our Peace

Ephesians 2:14

For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.

In Heaven, Christ our Pattern

1 Peter 2:21

For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.

On Earth, Christ our Power

2 Corinthians 12:9

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

In us

If you are a child of the most high God, Jesus lives within you and you should strive daily to show His heart to those around you.

Quote of the Day

As we prepare for our traditional celebrations, let us remember those who will not be looking forward to this festival. Let us remember too how Jesus identified with the oppressed and the homeless. Let the joy of the festival touch more of the people of our world this year than ever before. May God be glorified and may people of good will once again experience His peace. ~Denzil John~
