(CLICK THE PICTURE) Oh give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good, yes He is good! He woke us this morning and gave us the strength to face another day. You better praise Him right there where you are on this second day of the new year.
Today’s Prayer
Father, on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ, I want to thank You for Your guidance, protection, and blessings of this past year. Thank You for carrying us through the death of loved ones, for those You have brought safely home to us from foreign countries and for rescuing those You have taken home to be with You in glory–where they are now free of sin, death, pain and sorrow. Thank You for the simple but important daily blessings of food, clothing, and shelter, of friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, and family to love and encourage us along the way. Thank You for allowing us to worship You and to meet together with other Christians without fear of persecution. And I thank You now, for all the things You will do in this new year; for the plans You have for us, for hope and a future. I humbly ask You to forgive us of our failures, the sins we have committed as we stumbled here and there this year. We want to be more like Jesus as we walk in the Light and grow in the days to come. Please help us. With love in our hearts and praise on our lips, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
Spiritual Blindness
John 9:35-41
When Jesus heard what had happened, he found the man and asked, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” The man answered, “Who is he, sir? I want to believe in him.” “You have seen him,” Jesus said, “and he is speaking to you!” “Yes, Lord, I believe!” the man said. And he worshiped Jesus. Then Jesus told him, “I entered this world to render judgment—to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind.” Some Pharisees who were standing nearby heard him and asked, “Are you saying we’re blind?” “If you were blind, you wouldn’t be guilty,” Jesus replied. “But you remain guilty because you claim you can see.
Whitewashed
Matthew 23:27
“What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs—beautiful on the outside but filled on the inside with dead people’s bones and all sorts of impurity.
The Hypocrite Washed White
Revelation 7:14
And I said to him, “Sir, you are the one who knows.” Then he said to me, “These are the ones who died in the great tribulation. They have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white.
Quote of the day
I pray that the Lord might crown this year with His goodness and in the coming one give you a hallowed dare-devil spirit in lifting the biting sword of Truth, consuming you with a passion that is called by the cultured citizen of Christendom fanaticism’, but known to God as that saintly madness that led His Son through bloody sweat and hot tears to agony on a rude Cross—and Glory!
