Good morning everyone. Today I want to encourage you to celebrate the fact that you are a child of the one and only God. If you can’t do it because you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, It’s time for you to join the family. Simply pray these simple words and mean them from the bottom of your heart: Dear heavenly Father. I come to you this day as a sinner asking for forgiveness. I believe with all my heart that Your son Jesus died on the cross for my sins and on the third day arose and is at Your right hand. He lives! I you prayed that pray, welcome to the ranks of the unashamed. We all will now pray the prayer of the day.
Today’s Prayer
Father, worship can be holy, sacred, uplifting, and filled with “Praise the Lord” and hosannas. Salvation can be free – accepting Your grace, then repenting and turning Your way. But discipleship is costly, isn’t it? You called us, not just for our own salvation, but to be a “cross-bearers,” to share another’s burden, to love the unlovable, and to lead others to You! Oh Lord, for this we were chosen, so fill us with Your Holy Spirit and equip us for this task that we can’t accomplish on our own. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
The Gospel Feast
From the book of Luke
Feast Provided
Luke 14:15-17
Hearing this, a man sitting at the table with Jesus exclaimed, “What a blessing it will be to attend a banquet in the Kingdom of God!” Jesus replied with this story: “A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations. When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, ‘Come, the banquet is ready.’
Salvation of God Feast Refused
Luke 14:18-20
But they all began making excuses. One said, ‘I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.’ Another said, ‘I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them out. Please excuse me.’ Another said, ‘I now have a wife, so I can’t come.’
Grace-rejecter Feast Enjoyed
Luke 14:21-23
“The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’ After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘There is still room for more.’ So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full. For none of those I first invited will get even the smallest taste of my banquet.’”
Quote of the Day
Prayer changes things–and people. I have found that out so many times but I often wonder how God puts up with me with all my faults and failures. Surely He must have INFINITE patience to put up with all of us who make such blunders as we try to represent Him in this hell-raising world, and to be perfectly frank, ‘We ain’t seen nuthin’ yet’
