Oh give thanks unto the Lord for he is good yes he is good. The word “WISDOM” keeps bouncing around in my spirit so I guess that’s where we will go for our meal.
Today’s Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, You have said that where a man’s treasure is, there his heart will be also, and that as a man thinketh, so he becomes. In short, we will become what we love. If we love what is base, we will become base, if noble, we will become noble. Oh Lord, help us be careful of how we spend our time, of what we put into our minds, and of whom we choose as companions. Help us, Lord, to desire You and Your will for our lives. We can’t serve two masters — You and the world. Help us to choose You. In Your holy name we pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
True Wisdom Comes from God
James 3: 13-18
If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kinds of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.
Quote of the Day
People mostly pray as if there were no God with them, or as if He did not heed their prayers. Let us ascribe to the Lord at least the same amount of attention that good parents show to the requests of their children, at least that provident and attentive love which good parents have for their children. ~John of Kronstadt~
