WALKING IN THE ANOINTING 07-11-24

Today’s message is about spiritual anointing and knowing how to walk in it. So give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good, yes He is good and He is worthy of all of our praise. YOU BETTER PRAISE HIM RIGHT NOW.

Today’s Prayer

Father, You have laid it on my heart to pray for people who are addicted to prescription pain medications. This has become such a widespread dilemma in this day and age. Many times, people are seriously injured or have health issues that are so physically painful that they need relief. But after a while, even when their physical condition is better and the physical pain subsides, they find that they can’t or don’t want to stop the medicines. Others obtain the medicine illegally, just to self-medicate and feel better, to escape the real world with which they have a hard time coping. God, please reach out a touch these people and the people who continue to feed their habits. Help them to see that You are the best prescription they could ever have. I pray that You will relieve their pain and heal their minds and bodies; their emotional and spiritual beings. Please intervene in these precious and often misguided lives. I pray for comfort, for strength, for stamina, for willpower, for peace, for humbleness before You for each person to whom this prayer applies. Please help them, draw them to You, and bless them, dear Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Walking in the Anointing

So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came upon David in power…. – 1 Samuel 16:13

Has the Spirit of the Lord rested on your life? Can you cite the time when God’s Spirit began demonstrating His power through you?

The bible tells us that David knew the day the Spirit of the Lord began a special work in him. That Spirit was different from most leaders. Instead of seeking power and control, he led in response to a need. Instead of being a perfect person, he learned from mistakes and acknowledged them among those he led. Instead of placing confidence in his own abilities, he sought wisdom from the only real Commander in charge. David never lost a battle through his many years of leading Israel. He failed God by sinning with Bathsheba and by numbering the troops, but he learned from those failures, and he had to pay a price for them. However, God’s Spirit never left David. He never left because of David’s willingness to keep a soft heart toward God, even when he failed.

God wants to do the same in you and me, but He will not allow that Spirit to rest on us if we seek to control outcomes and manipulate out of our need for power. Servant leaders know that they are only a tool in the Master’s hand. They do not value themselves more than they ought. David’s heart was fully the Lord’s. Is your heart fully the Lord’s to do with what He wills? Dig deep within yourself and answer the question.

Quote of the Day

To realize that you are safe and happy standing at God’s side, with His love encompassing you because you are forgiven; too happy to take offense any more; too much in love with life to want to be made miserable with an unforgiving heart, and knowing that now every conflict is a chance to learn more of the exceeding beauty of Love: that is worth living for, and surely worth dying to this misery-making self for. And let us be grateful beyond words for this: that God will not let us alone until we have learnt it and stand by His side. He troubles us, He brings His disturbing light back and back to us, showing us how coarse and heavy the dying self, seeking her own, is; how horrible it is that any feeling of unforgiveness, accepted and held on to, towards our brother, drives God from our side; how quickly we must do all we can to heal the separation, because we are out in the cold and the dark indeed, if divorced from that Love.
